Another Trip to Canada

Well, a bit later than I wanted to post but there is little if any online access here. I flew into Seattle on Friday..long flight.. and drove across to BC Canada. Pain in the ass due to Friday traffic and one and a half hours getting across the border. .

I stayed in a small town called Hope- (i hope i dont go there again) a small and odd place. Got up early and hit the road knowing I still had a full day ahead. My destination, Bella Coola, British Columbia, Canada. Look it up on google earth....it's pretty far out on the West coast. And since BC Ferries is on their Winter schedue now...it's all driving.

Well it happened again. As I was heading down the Bella Coola hwy, and I got a flat tire. Strange that its the same one (left rear) that went flat driving around Canada last year. On top of that it was also on a muddy ass gravel road, and steep too.

It really fucked up my day, and i was a muddy mess too. I arrived in Bella Coola to a foggy and rainy end to the day. It poured all night and, at 3:30 here today, it's still windy and raining. 

Not much happening here today due to weather but I di get out for a hike and drive, hoping for better weather.

Oh, and I also convinced the local mechanic to "get off his ass" and fix my tire. I will say these folks all have a BP of 120 over 80.

Found its pretty tough keeping up a blog when you can't get online. Have had no cell service and limited online access. Also only using an iPad so there are some web site admin limitations with images. 

Once I'm back home ill get some images posted under a proper Gallery. The newest images keep feeding to the bottom, I'll change that too.

Made my way out of Tweedsmuir NP yesterday and down to Whistler. AMAZING drive, with amazing views the entire way.

You're how old?

So, this year I had a milestone birthday. I wont say what it was, but it rhymes with shifty. It has really got me thinking that maybe its time to explore some other possibilties. 

Everyone says its never too late to try something different—at least it sounds good. Ive been very fortunate with my career, family, and friends and I think about a change often as im sure we all do. But the bottom line is its frightening to consider. Do I want to leave the beach, do I want a differnt career, do I uproot my family from the only home they know? And these are only a few of the concerns. Time will tell.
