Cardinal
This bird and many others include at least three males have been extremly territorial this year. We always have this song bird in spring and early summer. we love to lay in bed on chilly mornings and open the balcony doors and listen to these guys chat between themselves. Combine that wih the Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Finches, and Mocking birds and we get quite a show in the Spring.

Florida Pelican
Local image near my home.

Broad Winged Hawk
Managed to get 20 amazing images of this predator. Could not have had better lighting conditions.

Female HornedbOwl
Springtime photo that included photos of the female, male, and baby all in the same tree. Owls often come back to nest in the same location each year. Unfortunatley this pair never returned to this tree. However, they could very easily been in a differnt tree close by.

Baby Horned Owl
This young bird had either fallen or attempted to fly from the nest but ended up on the ground. The mother and father watched me very closely. Someday another Raptor bird in the area someday.

Broad Wing Hawk
Near my Florida home after a stong winter rain storm, I spotted this hawk at the very top of a 50 foot norfolk pine. The rain had stopped but the wind was still blowing quite hard. I watched him nearly blow off but for some reason he just hung on to this really small branch. I have several pix of the wings spread and flapping around but at one calm point, I got this stare and, pix.

BC Guls
I shot these Guls in the upper regions of British Columbia in the Fall. They were cruising up the river one early morning as I was watching a female grizzly eat salmon. I couldnt resist the contrast between the dark mountain and the white birds. Shot at 800 ASA with a 400 mm lens. Shocked its not blurry.

Green Heron
This Green Heron mother was protecting her baby so i was being closely watched by both. next pix.

Blue Jay
A very noisy bird whos visit was short lived this spring. Three or four of these Jays hung around for about two weeks. They are very skiddish and hard to photograph.
